01 NCAC 06B .0508. TITLE TO LAND RAISED  


Latest version.
  • (a)  In those cases where an individual is reclaiming land lost due to natural causes, the title to the land raised vests in the individual:

    (1)           If the owner desires a quitclaim deed in order to clear his title in the area reclaimed, he may request same from the Department of Administration.

    (2)           Individuals seeking to reclaim land lost due to natural causes must submit proof to the Division of State Property of the loss and the nature of that loss.

    (b)  In all other cases, title vests in the state.  Upon completion of the filling operations, the applicant may request a quitclaim deed to the raised area.
