01 NCAC 06B .0801. PURPOSE

The relocation assistance program has a threefold purpose as follows:

(1)           to provide prompt and equitable relocation assistance and payments to those persons displaced as a result of state land acquisition programs and to insure that a few individuals do not suffer disproportionate injuries due to state land acquisition projects;

(2)           to assure that every individual displaced will have or will have been offered a decent, safe and sanitary dwelling to move into upon being required to vacate the dwelling acquired;

(3)           to ensure continuing eligibility for federal funds to the state.
