04 NCAC 01C .0204. AGENCY GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE

Latest version.
  • Each agency may desire to establish an agency grievance committee to consider employee grievance prior to consultation with the agency head.

If such a course is adopted, an employee shall appeal a supervisor's decision to the agency committee, or a supervisor may request such a hearing.  This committee shall hear all relevant facts in the case.  At the conclusion of the hearing, the committee shall inform the agency head of the details of the problem, the reason it was not resolved at the lower level, and the recommendations of the committee on the disposition of the grievance.

The agency head shall consider the agency grievance committee report in making his decision for the agency.  He shall make the decision and communicate it to the parties involved within five working days of receipt of the committee report.
