04 NCAC 12F .0105. FILLING IN MISSING HOMES

Latest version.
  • (a)  When the ED/AEC is unable to locate in a county a suitable existing or under construction home for the showcase, local homebuilders and vo‑tech schools will be encouraged to construct a showcase home.  The ED/AEC will mail local homebuilders and vo‑tech schools in such a county project information and a brief questionnaire and ask them to respond if they are interested in participating in the showcase.

    (b)  Interested homebuilders and vo‑tech schools must return a completed questionnaire to the ED/AEC indicating their desire to participate in the showcase and stating their design assistance needs.  Those who do not require design assistance will submit house plans with the complete questionnaire.  Those who do require design assistance will be offered through the Solar Spec Program free, one‑on‑one technical assistance in preparing a design for consideration as a showcase home.

    (c)  Information submitted by these potential candidates will be subject to the same evaluation, conditions, and rewards as previously outlined for potential candidates with under construction homes.  Further, the ED/AEC staff will periodically inspect final selections during construction.  If the construction is not completed to the originally agreed upon specifications, the home will not be included in the showcase and the homebuilder or vo‑tech school will not be eligible for any showcase benefits including the monetary incentive of five hundred dollars ($500.00).
