10A NCAC 71K .0102. FREEDOM OF CHOICE

(a) Individuals receiving problem pregnancy services will be given the opportunity to explore with the counselor various alternatives for resolving problems relating to the undesired pregnancy.

(b) The choice of alternatives shall be the prerogative of the client.

(c) The counselor will concentrate on presenting alternatives objectively and will strive to protect the client's right to freedom of choice by supporting a decision made by the client, offering assistance in locating and securing additional needed services and resources, and providing ongoing counseling as needed throughout the pregnancy.
