11 NCAC 04 .0312. INFORMATION USED IN CLAIM SETTLEMENTS  


Latest version.
  • (a)  Any information (including medical information) used in whole or in part as the basis of settling a life, accident health or disability claim shall be furnished to the Department as necessary in connection with specific complaints and inquiries.  As used in this Section, "furnished" shall include either mailing claim settlement information to the Department or exhibiting such information to the appropriate division personnel at a time and place set by the Division personnel.

    (b)  To the extent permitted by law, the Department shall treat medical information as confidential.
