14B NCAC 01A .0105. AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PROGRAM

  • (a)  The Department of Crime Control and Public Safety will provide all job applicants with equal employment opportunities and provide current employees with training, compensation, promotion and other employment benefits without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, or physical handicap except where sex, age, or physical ability are essential occupational requirements.

    (b)  Equal career opportunity requires a continuing program of affirmative action to insure that all personnel policies and practices relevant to total employment will guarantee equal opportunities for all persons.  Division heads must ensure, through instruction and action, that positive steps are being taken to implement an affirmative action program designed to meet the needs of each division.
