14B NCAC 06C .1704. TRANSPORTING FEMALE PRISONERS

(a) Male agents shall not transport female prisoners without a third person being present throughout the trip. Exceptions may be made whenever it is impossible or impractical to have a third person present.
(b) Whenever it is necessary to transport a female prisoner without the presence of a third person, male agents shall:
(1) Notify the State Highway Patrol telecommunicator on duty of the time of arrest, the odometer reading, place of intended incarceration and the estimated time of arrival at that location.
(2) Upon arrival at the destination the agent shall notify the patrol telecommunicator of the time and the odometer reading.
