14B NCAC 08B .0111. APPLICATION PROCESS: STEP TEN: ACCEPTANCE OR REJECTION

  • (a)  The chief shall make the final selections for vacant positions. He shall consider the applications according to the chronological policy set forth in Regulation .0104 of this Section and shall rule on the eligibility of the applicants for vacant positions at BPS pursuant to the requirements set forth in this Section.

    (b)  The chief shall notify each applicant of his/her eligibility to fill a position at BPS not less than two weeks before the Basic Training School begins:  provided however, that should any vacancy occur in the list of candidates for a position at BPS prior to the beginning of the Basic Training School, the chief may notify the approved applicant next in line.

    (c)  If the chief decides that an applicant is not qualified for a position with BPS, he will so notify the applicant.

    (d)  If the applicant fails to appear on the job at the time and place specified by the chief, or is rejected by the chief he/she shall not be permitted to reapply to BPS for 12 months.  This provision may be waived by the chief if he discovers extenuating circumstances which warrant a waiver.
