07 NCAC 04R .0602. GENERAL APPLICATION PROCESS

Applications for designation of buildings as historic properties for building code purposes may be obtained from the Director, Division of Archives and History, Attention Preservation Planner, North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources, 109 East Jones Street, Raleigh, N. C. 27611. Applications are submitted to the Director (SHPO) and are reviewed by him or his designee, and division professional staff. The SHPO or his designee signs the application form, indicating whether or not the property is determined historic. The SHPO forwards the application to the Engineering Division, North Carolina Department of Insurance, with copies to the local building inspector and the property owner.
